Cursive Handwriting Pack {Bible References}

Description

One of my main goals in creating this Cursive Handwriting Pack is to integrate the Bible into handwriting, just like they did in early American education. I love that the Bible used to be the main text, and so much learning revolved around it.

I hope to mix handwriting right into Bible learning with this pack.

 

 

Cursive Handwriting Pack

To keep it simple and easy for learners, uppercase and lowercase cursive letters are broken down into groups based on the initial stroke pattern:

Lowercase Letters are grouped in three categories:

1. Curve Up: such as l, e, b, or s
2. Curve Down: such as a, c, and o
3. Curve Over: such as n, m, or x

Uppercase Letters are grouped in four categories:

1. Curve Down: such as A, C, O, and E
2. Curve Up Right: such as T, F, L, or S
3. Curve Over: such as N, M, or U
4. Curve Up Left: just I and J

 

In this Cursive Handwriting Pack, you’ll find:

• Reasons why cursive handwriting is so important with links to more articles and resources
• Cursive handwriting guidelines, explaining things like how to connect letters and when to cross or dot letters

• Cursive handwriting formation charts – based on the letters’ first stroke patterns, as seen above left ~ download them for FREE on my blog
• Cursive practice pages for lowercase and uppercase letters, as seen above right

 

• A-Z Uppercase Pages & a-z lowercase pages ~ On each page, learners will trace the letter, try it with support, then use the letter to complete the word. Once the words are complete, learners have Bible references to look up. When they’ve found a Bible verse that matches one of the words they’ve traced, they glue it beside the word. {Note: Nearly all letter pages require learners to use the NKJV.}

 

• Cursive Handwriting Wall Cards ~ with two options. 1- display cards {see upper left} and 2- tracing cards {see upper right}

 

• Mixed Review through Bible Verse copy work ~ Eight Bible verses are included so learners can put their skills to work. The verses include are: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9, Romans 10:13 {all verses from “The Romans Road”}, John 3:16, Colossians 3:23, and Philippians 4:6.
