These Kindergarten Sight Word Sentences Cards feature all the high frequency words from the Pre-Primer list and a few words from Primer lists.

Each printable and digital sight word card features the sight word at the top of the card. At the bottom of each card, the sight word is used and underlined in a sentence with controlled language.

Here’s what you need to know about the cards:

• The cards come in two printable formats: 1- just read the word and sentence and 2- read then trace the sight word
• You’ll find three digital options for Google Slides: 1- Just Read it, 2- Drag & Map it, & Just Map It
• The printable cards come in three different sizes {whole page, half page, and four to a page}, ready to be printed in color or in blackline.
• 48 high frequency words are included – all of the second grade Dolch words and the rest of Fry’s second grade words {that were not included in our first grade sight word cards.} See complete list of words below.
• Only CVC word knowledge is required to read the other words in the sentences.
• As requested, EDITABLE CARDS are included in the pack, ten blank cards for each size.
• Note: The download has TWO separate files.

You might be wondering how these are DIFFERENT than the free sight word sentence cards I offer to blog subscribers? That’s a great question!

The free sight word sentence cards have some harder words that appear in the sentences. Learners will need to use the picture to figure out these words. For example, in the sentence, “I jump on the trampoline,” trampoline is not a decodable word for a Kindergartner. They must use the picture to help them figure it out.

Since learning even more about the science of reading and structured literacy, I have updated these cards to only include sight words or fully decodable words appropriate for a Kindergartner in these Kindergarten Sight Word Sentences Cards. With these cards, learners WILL NOT need to use the pictures to figure out any of the words. Woohoo!

These cards also come in a digital format for Google Slides, which has the option for mapping the words.
